Brake Booster Upgrade Install

An essential upgrade for 4WDs

The Bendix Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster Upgrade uses dual-diaphragm technology and is ADR compliant. The upgrade has been designed to be a direct ‘bolt-in’ replacement for original equipment (OE), single-diaphragm brake boosters.

Dual-diaphragm performance

4WD vehicles fitted with added mass and larger-diameter tyres require higher brake pedal pressure for effective braking. Brake pedal pressure required and braking effectiveness (including improved stopping distances) can be achieved by fitting a dual-diaphragm booster.

How Does a Dual Diaphragm Booster work?

The level of assistance can be increased (effort required to press the pedal reduced), by either:

  • Increasing the area of rubber diaphragm
  • Increasing the pressure differential (vacuum pressure)

The Bendix Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster Upgrade uses dual (tandem) rubber diaphragms to effectively double the diaphragm surface area without significantly increasing the size of the canister.

This allows the Bendix Ultimate 4WD Brake Booster Upgrade to be a ‘bolt-in’ replacement for OE brake boosters.
